A Little About Me.

My forest school adventure has always been brewing.

From roaming old lanes to climbing trees and playing with leaves, the outdoor has always been the greatest place of learning for me. My greatest memories are amongst nature in it’s many dimensions.

We are so fortunate to have such lush spaces to explore here in Ireland from flowing rivers, to green valleys and secret woodlands. Why are we spending so much time indoors?

With many years of experience as a primary school teacher, I am now hearing the call to the great outdoors.

In 2022, I completed my Forest School Training and in 2023, I set up my own forest school in a local woodland.

I provide forest schools sessions on schools grounds as well as in the great woodlands throughout the country.

The adventures continues to blossom and bloom.

What is Forest School?

-Outdoor learning surrounded in the bounty of trees or in a natural environment in the great outdoors.

-A long-term process of regular sessions, rather than a one-off or infrequent visits; the cycle of planning, observation, adaptation and review links each session.

-Community-A safe community for all learners is created for all.

-Holistic Development - Forest school aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners.

-Opportunity to create risks. What is play if we don’t take risks? All learning stems from risk. Forest school offers learners the opportunity to take supported risks appropriate to the environment and to themselves.

-Qualified Practitioners-Forest school is run by qualified Forest School practitioners who continuously maintain and develop their professional practice.
